Leaf Removal

Professional Leaf Removal for Princeton Properties
Anyone who’s lived through a Princeton fall knows that our tree coverage is both a blessing and a seasonal challenge. The maple-lined streets that make this town beautiful in October create serious leaf volume by November. I’ve learned that effective leaf removal isn’t just about making your yard look clean—it’s about preventing the problems that come when leaves mat down over grass and beds through winter.
Fall Leaf Management
We start leaf removal once the majority of leaves have dropped, which varies by neighborhood depending on tree species. Oaks hold their leaves longer than maples, and properties near Marquand Park or the Institute Woods can see leaf accumulation well into late fall. We remove leaves from turf areas where they’d otherwise smother grass, clear them from beds where they create unwanted mulch layers, and clean gutters that have collected debris.
Multiple-Visit Leaf Programs
Properties with heavy tree coverage benefit from scheduled visits throughout fall rather than a single cleanup. We’ll do an initial removal in mid-fall, return as the main leaf drop occurs, and finish with a final cleanup once everything has come down. This staged approach keeps your property manageable throughout the season rather than dealing with one overwhelming accumulation.
Leaf Disposal and Mulching Options
Removed leaves don’t have to be waste. For properties with wooded edges or natural areas, shredded leaves create excellent mulch for those spaces. For most residential properties, we haul away the volume and dispose of it properly. We can also discuss mulching leaves into turf in limited quantities, which returns nutrients to soil, though this only works when leaf volume isn’t excessive.
